On behalf of Transport for Greater Manchester and Stockport Council, we have been providing the entire Commercial role and resource since 2015 on this important £73m regeneration of Stockport Town Centre’s highways and public realm space (to be completed in 2020) with over 50 separate construction projects.
We regularly undertake roles in matters of Adjudication, producing Expert Reports and acting as the primary support partner to construction law firms. For example, we recently provided Forensic Quantity Surveying and Delay and Disruption Analyses in relation to a major civil engineering project, leading to the production of extensive technical aspects of the Referral document.
We provided Commercial Management on this £275m turnkey contract for the entire plant and civil engineering works, managed and delivered by Hitachi Zosen Inova AG.
We regularly act on behalf of contractors and subcontractors on problematic projects where disputes over their accounts have arisen and have negotiated amicable settlements without the need for formal dispute. For example, we have recently negotiated and settled accounts relating to a pipeline contract, a specialist drainage subcontract, a large groundworks subcontract and a student accommodation project – all under the NEC3 form of contract.
We provided Contract and Commercial Support to Hitachi Zosen Inova AG during engineering, procurement and construction of Europe’s largest energy-from-waste facility with a project value of £270 million.
Working closely with the Department for Transport’s HMEP team (Highways Maintenance Efficiency Programme) we oversaw and provided a complete service for Knowsley MBC over a 12 month period which included: business review, market analysis, soft market testing, production of a strategic options report, and formulation of contract and tender documents for a £30m five-to-eight year highways term maintenance contract.
We were employed by a Steel Fabrication company and worked alongside a construction law firm on a highly prestigious bridge project to pursue entitlement on a £4m contract with significant elements in dispute. Prior to a late settlement between the parties we drafted technical aspects of an adjudication Referral document.
